Dry Skin and Four Simple Cures

Even if you pride yourself on the perfect sheen of your skin, in winter months you probably experience problems with dry skin. In general, dry skin is one of the most common skin concerns, but luckily, it can be treated easily without resorting to expensive creams.

We bring you four simple home remedies for dry skin that to work for all skin types.

Milk

Milk is an excellent cure for dry skin as it has anti-inflammatory properties and also exfoliates dead skin cells. Just soak a cloth in milk and hold it on your dry skin for five to seven minutes. Then wash the skin area with another cloth soaked in warm water.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids that help the skin to retain moisture. Apply it to dry areas (or the entire body if you wish) before going to bed, and wash it off in the morning. For best results, repeat the process daily.

Olive oil

The olive oil solution is not preferred by some merely due to its smell, but olive oil is a great remedy for dry skin as it contains many antioxidants and fatty acids. Apply a small amount of olive oil on dry areas twenty to thirty minutes before taking a shower, then wash it off.

Honey and yogurt mask

Celebrities swear by this increasingly popular home-made recipe. Just mix 1 tablespoon of yogurt with 1 tablespoon of honey; to make the mixing easier, you can heat and melt the honey first. Rub the mask gently on your dry skin spots, and remove it with warm water after 15 minutes. This method is especially good for your face.
