Ginger-infused tea
Wash a piece of ginger root and cut into small pieces. Pour 2-3 cups of water into a pot and allow it to reach boiling pot. Add the ginger to the water and let it simmer for five minutes. Remove from the heat and strain the ginger-infused hot water into a cup. You can add a little honey.
Ginger candy
Peel the ginger and slice. Put into a saucepan and cover with water. Cook until fairly translucent and drain. Weigh the ginger and add the same amount of sugar. Return saucepan to the stove with about a quarter of a cup of the liquid. Cook on medium-high and stir frequently for about 20 minutes until it begins to crystallize.
Ginger and carrot soup
Make a carrot soup the way you normally would but together with the onions, carrots, chicken broth, cream and spices, add 2 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger root as well. Once the onions are tender, simply add the carrots, broth, and ginger and boil for a few minutes. Simmer till carrots are tender, blend thoroughly and add the cream.
Ginger lemonade
Use 14 slices of a fresh ginger root, 4 cups of lemon juice and 3 cups of sugar. Place the ginger slices, sugar, and water in a large saucepan. Mix well and heat on medium heat until it boils. Turn off the heat and add the lemon juice. Allow it to cool and refrigerate.
